Bristol district > Trinity neighbourhood area > Montpelier and St Werburghs beat

The vast majority of the area is residential with large properties dating back to the Victorian/Edwardian era. As a result there is very limited off-street parking availability.

There is a specialised shopping section in Picton Street, including two highly-rated restaurants, with a small industrial area in Station Road adjacent to the railway station.

Outcomes

Drug dealing in area of Montpelier Health Centre / Old England Public House
We investigated the circumstances around the dealing, uniform officers from the response teams and the Neighbourhood team working together with the licensee, visited the premises at different times of the day and a number of persons were dealt with for minor drug offences, and a quantity of drugs have been recovered. A multi agency meeting then took place with the brewery and different agencies involved and several different measures were agreed and implemented. This has seen all dealing around the venue to cease and the premises is now building up a different clientele; a great success for all.

Burglary
Burglary reduction / prevention operation in targeted areas, in partnership with BCC agencies. Targeting known offenders. Looking at making homes more secure and improving the areas environmentally aiming to reduce the number of incidents. Burglary has reduced by over 50%.
