Bath and North East Somerset district > Radstock neighbourhood area > Paulton beat

Paulton is a large village with a population of approximately 5,000. It is mainly a dormitory area for Bath and Bristol. It has good amenities ie junior and infant schools, a swimming pool, hospital, doctor and dental surgeries and most shops are at hand. Tesco and Focus Do it All are also within Paulton beat.

Crime is relatively low and is mainly theft from shops and shed thefts. It does suffer sporadic bouts of bulk crime when visited by criminals from other areas.

Partners and Communities Together (PACT) gives you the opportunity to influence what happens in your neighbourhood. It is a mechanism whereby neighbourhood issues, identified through local meetings, are taken to a partnership panel, where courses of action are agreed. Find out more.

If you are unable to attend a meeting but would like to make your views known, please Register your local priorities.

Current public priorities

Agreed 18th May 2010

1. Parking Issues at Paulton Primary (Turning Circle).
2. Speeding - Farrington Road/ Britons Hill Parking.
3. Poor lighting on footpath to Paulton Rec ground.

Lead Agency: B&NES

Feedback to be given at next meeting.

Outcomes

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues Plumtree Road
No further reports; regular patrol carried out. ASB generally in Paulton has dropped by 22.2%. No further comments from attending public, all in order.

Dog fouling
PCSO Sarah MCQuitty and B&NES Dog Warden have been working together to address this issue. They have been involved in initiative with local school children to raise awareness. Patrols carried out, none yet caught. Public response is that this is still an issue. PC Gardiner agrees and asked for the public to provide intelligence in regard to offending dog owners. Public would like patrols to continue and maybe a leaflet drop by the Dog Warden to raise the awareness again. Beat Team agreed to do so.

Speeding in Paulton (Winterfield Road at school drop off times)
Lollipop pole was inserted with CCTV camera to monitor issue. Regular patrols carried out by PCSOs. Beat Manager has spoken with B&NES for result on speed strip survey which shows no issues on people failing to stop.
