The photograph shows an expanse of grass in the foreground and a large white gabled two-storey building surrounded by trees in the background. There is a tree to the right of the image, behind which is a building in the same style, with a brown frontage. The black and white image to the bottom left gives a wider view of the same scene over which is the text South Petherton beat A pink brain illustration

Partners and Communities Together (PACT) gives you the opportunity to influence what happens in your neighbourhood and is our local policing pledge to you. It is a mechanism whereby neighbourhood issues, identified through local meetings, are taken to a partnership panel, where courses of action are agreed. Find out more.

If you are unable to attend a meeting but would like to make your views known, please Register your local priorities.

Current public priorities

Agreed 23rd November 2009

1. Maintaining a low level of anti-social behaviour in South Petherton recreation fields and outside Blake Hall
Action - increase patrols in the area to monitor the situation. Names/details will be taken of those who are not acting responsibly.
Lead agent PCSO Olly Hammonds.

2. Double parking and parking on double yellow lines in St James Street
Action - to prosecute those found to be parking illegally. Increased high visibility patrols.
Update 26/11/09 - This has now extended to outside the Co-op and the square outside the Natwest Bank. PCSOs are to issue £30 fixed penalty fines on sight of any offending vehicles, rather than warnings. Members of the beat team would like to remind motorists that there are two free car parks to use in South Petherton and so illegally parked vehicles will not be tolerated.
Lead Agent PCSO Olly Hammonds.

3. Speeding in Seavington and Lopen, all times of the day throughout the week
Lead Agents PCSO Charlotte Rogers, along with Gemma North, CSW Administrator whose email address is gemma.north@southsomerset.gov.uk.

Outcomes

Update 17/12/09:

ASB, South Petherton
Only one case of ASB around recreational fields. We will keep patrols in the area a priority.

Illegal parking
Still an issue. We will step up fines to the point where £30 fines will be handed out on sight of any vehicles committing offences.
