Martock is a busy rural town surrounded by a number of villages. Running south of Martock is the A303, one of the West Country`s main arterial routes. There is a large industrial estate within Martock.

The Martock beat covers the villages of Bower Hinton, Long Load, Witcombe, Stapleton, Ash and Coat.

Warning of lead thefts
Martock area are currently suffering from a spate of lead thefts from roofs. PC Iain Selley reports, "Recently we have had a number of these thefts in Myrtle Close, Ashfield Road and Elmleigh. It appears that the crimes are happening overnight. I'd like to ask residents to remain vigilant and to report anything suspicious to the police. Information can also be placed anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

2. More patrols of the public footpaths in and between Martock and Ash, due to reports of mini motos being ridden in the public areas.
