Ivelchester beat lies to the north of Yeovil and covers the town of Ilchester which was originally an ancient Roman settlement and is now a small market town with the River Yeo flowing through the centre. The A303 runs through the northern part of the beat.The beat area also includes Bridgehampton, Draycott, Limington, Speckington, Yeovilton, Podimore, Ashington and Mudford. The large military complex at Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton is also within the beat.The Police Station covering Ivelchester beat is Wincanton Police Station.
