Partners and Communities Together (PACT) gives you the opportunity to influence what happens in your neighbourhood. It is a mechanism whereby neighbourhood issues, identified through local meetings, are taken to a partnership panel, where courses of action are agreed. Find out more.

If you are unable to attend a meeting but would like to make your views known, please Register your local priorities.

Current public priorities

Agreed 27th April 2010

PCSO Timothy Russell attended the latest Bruton Town Council meeting. The current priorities will continue to remain the same.

1. HGVs flouting the 7.5 tonne weight limit
HGVs are regularly breaking the weight limit at all times of the day and night. This is not only against the law but is having a detrimental effect on some of the very old buildings and structures within the town. The police are hoping to visit the town at sporadic times to target the offending lorries. Some, we know, have permits and have legitimate reasons for coming through the town. However, the majority are using it as a cut through.
Lead Agencies:
RPU (Roads Policing Unit), SSN officers, PC1164 Sara Stephenson

2. Speeding vehicles around the One Way system
Lead Agencies:
Police, RPU (Roads Policing Unit), PC Sara Stephenson.
Community Speed Watch: PCSO Tim Russell.

Outcomes

HGVs
The Roads Policing Unit have regularly been patrolling the town and stopping and dealing appropriately with HGVs which are flouting the 7.5 tonne weight limit without a valid permit.
