Easton beat is a mixture of council, privately owned and privately rented dwellings occupied by a diverse multi-cultural society. Commercial shops are mainly contained within the Stapleton and St Marks Road area. Also the Easton Business Centre has a number of light industrial units.

In addition to the usual modes of public transport, the beat is also serviced by rail with a local station at Stapleton Road.

Good result for local youths in football friendly match with Police!
On Saturday 7 August 2010 a team of local Somali youths took on the police in a friendly football match at the City Academy on Russell Town Avenue, Redfield. PC Tom Gent scored a brilliant (and the only) goal for the police, bringing the final score to 7-1! The day was good natured and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved; it was the latest in a series of community spirited events in the area and it's hoped that these matches will become a regular event.
