The main village on this beat is Milverton with a population of 2,000, which is well served with local facilities. The beat area has over 100 farms of mainly arable type and of various sizes.

Other smaller villages are Croford, Screedy, Fitzhead, Halse, Preston Bowyer, Ash Priors, Tolland, Lydeard St Lawrence, Combe Florey and West Bagborough.

1. Non dwelling burglaries including theft of agricultural equipment overnight
Rural Watch and Horse Watch are available and administered by Wellington Police. All previous victims of thefts are to receive a follow up visit to ensure crime prevention measures have been implemented.

2. Speeding: B3187 is still perceived to be the worst
Community Speed Watch in place supported by PCSOs from Wellington. Additional training and support for new volunteers.

Rural Watch: Property security-marking initiative - Round Three! 2009 (Milverton and North Deane beat)
Following the huge success of the Milverton and North Deane beat Rural Watch property and equipment marking scheme, launched in the summer of 2007 – Sharon and I would like to do it all over again!

Come to a beat surgery (Milverton)
A surgery is held every Monday (except for Bank Holidays) in the Creedwell Community Room, Creedwell Orchard, Milverton between 2 - 3pm. This is manned by a member of your community policing team who will be available to offer advice, report incidents to or just for a chat. Come along and meet us. Let us know what is happening in your community.

We are trying to trace a man who we think may be able to help with our enquiries into a case of theft of two handbags from a store in Bristol Road, Brent Knoll, Somerset at 1.22pm on 25 June 2010.
