We are developing a new custody and crime investigation centre on Ashmead Road, Keynsham, which will also house general office accommodation.
The custody and crime investigation centre will have 48 cells, replacing existing custody provision at Bath, Broadbury Road, 50% of central Bristol and surrounding police stations. It is envisaged that a specialist crime investigation team will also be located here who will assist with the investigation and so enable the police officers to return to their communities quicker.
This site is expected to house approximately 230 officers and staff who are currently based in custody centres and other support functions in Bristol and B&NES. The proposal includes reception facilities to serve detainees and their representatives and flexible office space. There are no plans to include an enquiry office on this site.
