On a redevelopment site on the A38 Gloucester Road in Patchway, we are building a purpose-built custody and crime investigation centre and police station.

Custody and Crime Investigation Centre

One of the three centralised custody and crime investigation centres across the force, this will house 48 cells which will be used by officers in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and parts of North Somerset. It is envisaged that a specialist crime investigation team will also be located here who will assist with the investigation and so enable the police officers to return to their communities quicker.

Gloucester Road Police Station

On the same site we will also build a new Police Station for the communities of Filton, Patchway, Bradley Stoke, Little Stoke, Stoke Gifford, Frenchay, Winterbourne, Severn Beach, Almondsbury, Easter Compton and Hambrook. This will replace the existing Filton police station on Elm Park, Gloucester Road North. This will contain an enquiry office for the public.

This site is expected to house approximately 280 officers and staff who are currently based in custody centres across Bristol and South Gloucestershire as well as those based in Filton police station.
