Decorate your own Greetings Card

Distraction burglars are thieves who trick people into letting them into their home, then steal things.

They most often do this to older people, who are sometimes less able to protect themselves. The thieves say there is a water leak or other emergency and that they have to come in to fix it. Once inside, they take any money they can find.

This upsets people very much. As well as losing their money, they feel unhappy that this has happened in their own home. Sometimes it makes people feel frightened and unwell.

Police want to stop these heartless thieves, and you can help.

If you know an older person – perhaps your grandparents, neighbours, or a family friend – download this greetings card, which has special advice on keeping the crooks out.

Then decorate it, write a special message and give it to your older friend or relation.

Thank you!
