This booklet has been written to increase awareness and understanding of a variety of disabilities which public service providers are likely to come into contact with. The lack of knowledge of these disabilities can result in an inadequate and inappropriate service. The booklet provides information on recognising and understanding the disability, communication with people who have a disability, [custody] and where to go for further information.

The book covers ADHD, autism and asperger syndrome, bi-polar disorder, borderline personality disorder, people who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, people who are blind, have diabetes, dyslexia, epilepsy; people with learning difficulties, mobility impairments, phobia, schizophrenia; people who have visual impairments.

Each copy costs £2.50. This includes postage and packing. Orders for between 1-10 books will need to be accompanied by cheque or postal order made payable to Avon and Somerset Police Community Trust. Orders over this amount will be invoiced under separate cover.

We do offer quantity rates as follows - 100+ copies = 10% discount; 200+ copies = 15%; 500+ copies = 20%.
