Guidelines for Nominations

The categories are as follows:

 

Rural Award

This award is to recognise the efforts of a scheme in a rural area.

 

Urban Award

This award in to recognise the achievements of a scheme in an urban area.

 

Long-Service Community Award

This award is to recognise the achievements of a scheme which has continually worked hard to improve its community for a substantial period of time.

 

Best New Scheme

This award is for a scheme started in the last 18 months, which has already demonstrated its energy and commitment to improving the lives of the residents.

 

Best PCSO or Beat Manager

This award is for a beat manager who has encouraged watch groups within a beat area and worked with residents to reduce crime and improve the community.

 

Avon and Somerset Overall Achievement Award

This overall award will go to one individual/Watch whose outstanding work/efforts qualify for the 'overall' prize. The award will recognise an individual or scheme that has put in that little bit extra. This award is open to all those involved in NHW, including those under 25 years of age.

 

Please note: We need to have a 'spread' of winners across the force area so please nominate your active groups or beat manager. Nominations should detail projects, achievements and results and may include press cuttings and testimonies from representatives of local partnership organisations. Groups may submit their own nominations but please ensure they do so through their District Neighbourhood Watch Administrator or Crime Reduction Unit.
