Avon and Somerset Police Headquarters sits on prime agricultural land, which has been protected. As a result it is home to a rich variety
of resident wildlife, including kestrels, woodpeckers, owls, bats, badgers and the occasional deer.
There are a number of ponds on site supporting hundreds of great crested newts which are officially classed as an endangered species
in Britain.
For official visitors to the grounds there are a number of nature trails you can enjoy. These are constantly being updated and developed
by our grounds staff. To find out about the nature trails ask at reception or follow the small wooden signs featuring a paw print.
There are also many “quiet areas” including the Japanese Gardens. The Memorial Garden offers an area of peace and solitude
to remember those colleagues who sadly lost their lives in the line of duty.
