Travel and Transport

The Glastonbury Festival is situated in the small village of Pilton, in East Somerset, surrounded by country lanes and hamlets. When 178,000 people and nearly 50,000 cars, campervans and trailers descend on the area it becomes quite busy.

This section of our website covers various options and tips for travelling to and from the festival and in the days leading up to and after the festival, there will be as much up-to-date traffic and travel information on the site as possible.

You can sign-up to receive free traffic and travel updates on your mobile by texting "GLASTO" to 81003.

If possible, we would encourage you to travel to the festival using public transport – cutting down on the number of cars around the Somerset villages and also reducing your carbon footprint!

For more information about the various methods of public transport go to the Glastonbury Festival website, which has a comprehensive Travel section.

Festival organisers have also arranged coaches for 30,000 people who have bought a combined coach and ticket package.
