Can you please advise me of the number of people who have been penalised for displaying a registration plate on a vehicle which does not conform to the regulations such as size, spacing and font. over the last 4 years by the Somerset and Avon Police Force.

Also can you please advise me of the number of motorists who have been penalised due to their registration plate being obscured by dirt over the same period i.e. last 4 years.

Please find below a table illustrating the amount of fixed penalty notices issued for offences relating to registration plates for the years 2005-2008. As there is no specific offence of registration plate being obscured by dirt, any offences of this nature will be included within one of the offence categories included within the table.
