This is the beat for the council ward of Ashwick and Ston Easton which lies to the north of Shepton Mallett and to the south-west of Radstock.

The A37 runs north/south through the beat area, joined in the south of the beat by the B3139. The beat area also includes Gurney Slade, Binegar, Oakhill and Emborough.
