South Gloucestershire district

The South Gloucestershire district serves an area of around 200 square miles and has a resident population of just over a quarter of a million. The district boundary is defined by the county of Gloucestershire in the north, Wiltshire in the east, Bristol in the south and the River Severn in the west.

The district is divided into three policing sectors, each headed by an inspector. This inspector is able to focus on local issues and with teams of a sergeant and constables to provide patrols and manage beats, we are able to provide police officers who are knowledgeable about local problems and can help solve them. These officers have specialist support in the form of detectives, crime prevention officers, domestic violence officers, scenes of crime officers and support staff.

The district covers three sectors, namely Staple Hill, Filton and Chipping Sodbury/Thornbury.
