Bath and North East Somerset district

Bath and North East Somerset covers an area of approximately 135 square miles and provides a service for around 160,000 residents. More than half live in the city of Bath but other major centres include Keynsham, Saltford, Chew Valley, and the former mining communities of Peasedown St. John, Radstock, Midsomer Norton and Paulton.

Bath and North East Somerset district comprises three Neighbourhood Areas with the district HQ at Bath and further police stations at Radstock and Keynsham.

The attractive Georgian city of Bath attracts some four million visitors each year. It also hosts major events such as the International Music Festival, open air concerts by star performers, national car rallies, government conferences and various sporting events including top class rugby.

Two new cartoons explaining the dangers of drugs have been produced by Avon and Somerset Police to educate teenagers about the risks of misusing illegal substances.

Bath police warn of increase in burglary and theft (Bath)
November is a traditionally key time for an increase in burglaries and thefts and police are warning the public to increase vigilance and security in the lead up to Christmas. Burglaries can happen at domestic or commercial properties and the beginnings of an increase in activity has been seen this week, both in central Bath and our more rural outlying areas.
