The Redland part of the beat area comprises three wards, Cotham, Redland and Bishopston, which form one Neighbourhood Partnership Area.

The area is a cosmopolitan mix of residential and commercial properties, with a vibrant night time economy on Gloucester Road and Whiteladies Road.

There are notable landmarks in the area, including the Memorial Stadium, Gloucestershire County Cricket Ground, Brunel Technical College and Horfield Prison. There are also several school establishments including Redland High School for Girls, Cotham Community School and the recently opened Redland Green.
