For the eighth year in a row T4 on the beach returned to shores of Weston-super-Mare on Sunday July 4.

Almost 50,000 people turned out to see live music from bands including JLS, Pixie Lott, the Saturdays, N-Dubz and Dizzee Rascal.

Local police were on hand to make sure the day went smoothly, with officers offering crime prevention advice to revellers on how to stay safe whilst enjoying the day.

Five arrests were made throughout the day, one for assault and another on behalf of West Midlands police.

A man wanted in connection with a violent robbery on Saturday July 3 in the West Midlands force area made his way to the coastal resort and was spotted by a special constable in the town. He was subsequently arrested.

Superintendent Richard Cadden said: "From both a policing and the organiser's point of view this event was a huge success. No major crimes were reported to us, and those attending had a fantastic time.

"We would like to thank all those people for coming to Weston-super-Mare and enjoying what was a fantastic day without becoming a victim of crime.

A marquee was set up in the grounds for those attending to register their mobile phones with immobilise, and Skate Park erected for officers to engage with young people about the issues they face when attending events like this.

Supt Cadden added: "We'd like to thank all those that attended for helping to confirm Weston-super-Mare as a top coastal resort. We hope party-goers return again next year."
