Hari Joshi Memorial Trophy

Mr. Hari Joshi was a prominent member of the Hindu Community in Bristol prior to his death in 1984. After Hari Joshi's death, the memorial trophy was donated to the Avon and Somerset Constabulary by members of the Hindu community (including his son). The main reason for instigating the award was that Mr. Joshi had been very active in trying to improve relations between the wider community and the people of Asian descent living in the greater Bristol area. The trophy is awarded annually to the police officer or group of officers whom it is judged to have made the greatest contribution to community relations within the greater Bristol area.
