Royal Humane Society Awards can be awarded to Police Officers, Special Constabulary, Police Staff and Members of the Public.
The Awards of the Royal Humane Society are made to those who, at personal risk, save or endeavour to save life by rescues from the following:
- Accidents in aircraft, ships etc.
- Asphyxia in blastfurnaces, earth works, sewers, wells etc.
- Cliffs or other heights
- Drowning
- Electrocution, or
- In other circumstances where awards from other sources are not available.
Resuscitation:
Awards can be made for those successfully restored from failure of heart or respiration. Professional persons in the exercise of their
calling, on or off duty, are not normally awarded.
