The Criminal Justice Support Unit (CJSU) is made up of support officers, police sergeants, senior management administrators and clerical
officers.
Their role is to support the managers, supervisors and staff within the Criminal Justice Department. The support is in daily operational
matters, and the future developments of processes and systems, the supply of management information and the provision of resources.
The unit also carries out the role of problem solving in respect of computer dysfunction. In line with this they act as a liaison for
the Information Systems Department at Headquarters. The CJSU are able to deal with the minor faults and offer advice to users.
The CJSU researches the impact of new legislation, changes in working practices and advances in new technology for the whole department
or units within it.
The unit also represents the force at a number of external user groups in connection with the work of the Criminal Justice Department.
