The most effective way to tackle the problem is by the problem oriented approach known as SARA. (Scanning, Analysis, Response and Assessment)
- Scanning
Firstly identify the problem, in this case excess speed. Identify the extent of the problem, where, when, and who, is causing the problem.
- Analysis
Gather all the information, i.e. who is being affected, by whom, where and when.
- Response
Once all the information has been gathered, consider what action is required. It may be that the problem is being caused by local factory staff, in which
case educating the staff may resolve the problem. You could consider the distribution of speed reduction posters, or involve local media to highlight the problem.
- Assessment
It is important to monitor what was actually done to address the problem, to evaluate if the response worked.
