Welcome to the Roads Policing Unit web pages. Road policing is a critical component of core police work and getting it right is of prime importance. Reducing road death and casualties whilst at the same time denying criminals the freedom to use the roads is the focus of all the unit's endeavours. In order to carry out their duties as efficiently, safely and professionally as possible every road policing officer undertakes the most rigorous standards of specialist police training. Statement of purpose

In partnership we will create safer roads, disrupt and deter criminals and support the force with specialist skills by;

• investigating incidents,
