2.The number of reports to police of an alleged crime where a dating app (Tinder/Grindr) was named in the log.
I ask for the information to be broken down yearly (2011-2016) into the numbers of crimes, brief description of crime, gender of victim, age of victim, and outcome of the crime.
Please see the attached spreadsheet. This is the information as it is held, there may be occasions where information has not been recorded (empty fields in the spreadsheet) or there are inconsistencies in the recording. The first tab provides a summary of offences per year where Tinder/Grindr/Dating App or Dating Site was mentioned in the MO. The second tab provides a breakdown of these offences to include a brief description of the offence, gender of the victim, age of the victim, and outcome of the crime. The name of the dating site may be recorded in the crime enquiries but this information is not centrally recorded.
In addition Avon and Somerset Constabulary can neither confirm nor deny that it holds any other information with regard to an exempt body as the duty in Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 does not apply by virtue of the following exemption:
Section 23(5) Information Supplied by, or concerning, certain Security Bodies
Section 23 is a class based absolute exemption and there is no requirement to consider the public interest in this case.
