Average Detention Times in Custody Since Nov 2015

Question

After the new custody suits were opened in Avon and Somerset the force collected data on the length of detention times in custody for the Adapt Report. Since the publication of that report has further data on detention times been collected - if so could I be sent that data

Clarification received:

On the 24th July you clarified that you were requesting “data relating to the time spent by detainees in the new custody suits. The Adapt paper looked the increasing time detainees spent in custody since the new custody centres were opened. I want to see the most recent figures for detainee detention times going back to the opening of the new custody suits. That is  - average detention times for detainees in the new custody suits over the period 2013/4-to now.”

Answer

Please see our response below. We are unable to provide information prior to November 2015 due to a change in our systems; to extract this we would be required to review each individual custody record which would attract the section 12 cost of compliance exemption.
