1. How many requests have you had to use Sarah's Law in the past three years?
2. How many of those requests have been successful (meaning the information requested by parents has been disclosed)?
1. Since 2015 to date, we have received a total of 308 applications under the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme (known as Sarah’s Law).
2. Of those, 31 have resulted in disclosure being given to the most appropriate person to receive the information under that scheme.
The process of submitting an application under the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme is not restricted to the parents. Any member of the public who has a concern for the safety of a child can make an application but disclosures will be made to the person best placed to protect the child. This may be a parent, carer or guardian.
