Answer

As more victims feel confident about coming forward to report incidents, levels in Avon and Somerset may increase. For us, that’s a tangible demonstration of their belief in us to tackle crime and bring offenders to justice. The investigation around this type of crime is victim orientated. It is essential that when victims contact us that they can be confident that the investigation will take in to account what they want to happen and the outcome they are seeking.  We will support victims unequivocally from the point they report a crime and throughout the entire length of the investigation.

1. Any type of recorded crime can be given a hate crime flag. Any crime with a perceived racial or religious hate aggravation must be recorded. This can include reports from third parties who have witnessed an incident that they believe to be racially or religiously aggravated.
