Bicycle Theft since September 2015

I would like to put in a FOI request for data relating to 'Bicycle Theft'. Specifically I would like a csv file with the following data columns 'Crime ID', 'Date', 'Bike Make', 'Bike Model', 'Bike Serial Number'

I understand some of this data may not exist for some Crime ID's. In which case I would still like the crime ID and date noted but the other columns left blank. Could I have the data from Sept 2015 to Sept 2016 please. I understand some similar data has been published, but it is not linked to the Crime ID and therefore the location.

Your request for information has now been considered and we have provided a list of all crimes in force under the classification of theft of a pedal cycle. This lists occurrences as some reported thefts include more than one bike. The information is provided in the attachment.

Please note however we have not provided the crime number as this information is exempt. The crime numbers have been allocated to the individuals whom reported these thefts and they will not have an expectation that these details would be further disseminated. Please note the crime number will not have provided any further information concerning the location.

The exemption applicable to this is Section 40(2), third party personal information. This is an Absolute exemption so therefore there is no requirement to conduct a harm or public interest test. Any information is exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act if it relates to or is supplied by another individual and disclosure of that information would contravene any of the principles of the 1998 Data Protection Act, in this particular case, disclosure of this information would contravene Principles 1 and 2 of the Act, whereby personal data shall be processed fairly and lawfully and only obtained for one or more specified purpose or purposes.

FOI reference: 1443/16.

Date of request: 29.11.16.
