Drug Driving - Statistics

Question

1. The number of drivers stopped by police and tested for drug driving, broken down by the following time frames:

• 1st March 2014 – end of Feb 2015

• 1st March 2015 – end of Feb 2016  

2. The number of drivers arrested for drug driving, broken down by the following time frames:

• 1st March 2014 – end of Feb 2015

• 1st March 2015 – end of Feb 2016  

3. The number of accidents caused by drug driving, broken down by the following time frames:

• 1st March 2014 – end of Feb 2015

• 1st March 2015 – end of Feb 2016

Answer

1. Avon and Somerset is now part of a collaboration with neighbouring forces, Gloucestershire Constabulary and Wiltshire Police to provide specialist operational services across the three force areas. This encompasses the specialisms of firearms, roads policing, collision investigation and dogs.

 Tri-Force began collating figures for the use of drugs wipes in November 2015. Since then, Tri-Force have carried out 245 tests.
