Traffic Offence Reports for Obstructing a Pavement

Question

I am registered severely visually impaired and struggle with cars/vehicles obstructing the pavement putting me and my Guide Dog at risk. I would like to know the following:

1. How many fixed penalty notice tickets were issued each month in each beat area for cars/vehicles obstructing the pavement between 1st January 2016 - 30th June 2016?

When I refer to 'cars/vehicles obstructing the pavement' within the request I mean to include both those where the driver is still present and those where the driver is no longer present and the car/vehicle has been parked obstructing the pavement.

Answer

There are two offences that relate to obstructing a pavement. These are:

  • Cause unnecessary obstruction by motor vehicle/trailer outside of the Greater London area
  • Wilful obstruction of a highway

This information is not recorded by beat location but rather by the issuing unit.

Please see the number of fixed Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) issued between 1st January 2016 and 30th June 2016 for each offence broken down by the issuing unit in the attached file.

FOI reference: 1071/16.

Date of request: 22.08.16.
