We use third party cookies to improve our online services. These cookies enable us to gather information about users who access our site and what actions they take. They also allow us to obtain feedback from users and work with partners to provide the best possible service.
Usage of the Avon and Somerset Constabulary website is monitored through a web analytics service provided by Google known as Google Analytics.
Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
We use an external service to collect page feedback from users. This service is called Wufoo, which is a service provided by SurveyMonkey. You can visit the Wufoo Privacy Statement - Privacy For Form Respondents for more information. Avon and Somerset Constabulary are the "Form Creators".
Like many other websites, our site makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, administer the site, track user movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
We were working with North Somerset Council and Agilisys to enable identification of overlaps between organisations. This aims to improve demand management, improve customer experience and allow users to access the right information from the correct organisation. To capture this information, we were using the Agilisys Engage cookie.
