Assessment Support Officer

As an Assessment Support Officer you will be required to contribute to the development and assessment against appropriate National Occupational Standards (NOS) of staff in leadership positions within the Constabulary, in particular assessing candidates through the National Police Promotion Framework (NPPF).

The successful candidate will be responsible for training, mentoring, and coaching staff involved in aspects of formal assessment against NOS to Competence in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) assessment standard. Duties will be to undertake and monitor the assessment of staff in leadership roles within the Constabulary and officers requiring assessment against the NPPF, also to undertake the internal verification (IV) of NOS and Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) standards and ensure that effective verification processes are in place.

The post holder should hold a Level 4 qualification in Training and Development, hold an A1/CAVA qualification and either hold or work towards the IQA qualification or equivalent. In addition the post holder must have leadership and management experience or a Level 5 Certificate in leadership and management.

The right candidate must hold a full current driving licence and be able to travel around the force area using alternative transport and have good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Working pattern – Flexible working, full time, part time and job share applications will be considered. Candidates will need to be flexible around working hours to assess candidates in the working environment.
