Subject: Sexual Offences Recorded Where The Offender is Under 18
During the full calendar years 2019 and 2020:
How many sexual offences recorded by your force were committed by children under 18yrs at the time of the offending.
Please exclude non-recent sexual offences
For clarity I would like the figures for all person under 18 even if they were too young to be charged with any criminal offence so from age 1 to 18yrs
Also can the number be broken down by offence home office code?
Response
Avon and Somerset Constabulary have identified 383 sexual offences in 2019, and 294 sexual offences in 2020 where is the suspect age is recorded as under 18.
