Please be aware; that when a vehicle has been detected driving at excess speed by a ‘speed camera’ they will receive a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP). Depending on the severity of the case, the option to go on a speed awareness course, or pay a fine and receive penalty points may be included in the NIP. The driver can only receive a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) once the completed NIP has been returned to us and a decision on the outcome has been made.
