Assistance completing the Notice
Answers to common queries relating to Speeding Notices.
I received a reminder Notice but do not have the original or I have lost my Notice
If you receive a reminder Notice but did not see – or you have misplaced – the original, contact the Speed Enforcement Unit who can reissue it for you.
I did not see the Notice in time
Starting from the date the Notice was issued, you will have 28 days to respond with the driver’s details.
If we do not receive a response 21 days after the issue date, you will be sent an automated reminder letter to say you have 7 days left to respond.
You should reply to the Notice and include a covering letter explaining you have only just seen the request. If you do not respond before the deadline, you may be prosecuted.
I am out of the country and unable to sign the form
If you are out of the country and cannot reply to the Notice, the Speed Enforcement Unit can email you a copy of it for you to print, sign, scan and email back to them.
The person the Notice is intended for does not live at this address
Should you receive a Notice for a person who no longer lives at your address and they did not leave a forwarding address, mark it “Recipient not known” and post it back to the Speed Enforcement Unit.
I have paid the fine on behalf of someone else
If you have returned the Notice and paid the fine on behalf of someone else who was driving your vehicle, you cannot get a refund. You will need to contact the Speed Enforcement Unit to request a new Notice to be sent to the driver of vehicle.
How can I pay a fixed penalty?
