The post of Taxi Compliance Officer is fully funded by Bristol and South Gloucestershire Councils and has been extremely successful in supporting drivers and the public in having a safe and effective Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle service. The work involves dealing with crime committed by and against drivers, supporting drivers who have experienced hate crime, educating the public, checking compliance with the law and licensing conditions by vehicles and drivers, problem solving, traffic management and multiagency operations amongst other tasks.

We are hoping to find a volunteer who is able to offer us half a day to a day per week. The hours/days worked can be entirely flexible.
This is a great opportunity to learn about traffic law, taxi licensing, provide evidence for CV’s and to improve communication skills. You will feel satisfaction in having a direct influence on keeping the public safe, and your work will be appreciated by the drivers.
