We’ve arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Easton on Sunday.

Officers went to a flat off Perry Street, Bristol just before 1.45pm on Sunday 11 November after a call from the ambulance service.

Sadly, a man died at the scene. A post-mortem has now established that he died from blunt impact injuries.

Specialist Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) officers are investigating the death. The suspect remains in police custody at the time of writing.

Senior Investigating Officer DI Neil Rice said: “This appears to have been a self-contained incident within a flat, involving two people who are known to one another. It has sadly resulted in one person losing his life.

“Our officers are currently in contact with the family of the deceased. We’re not seeking anyone else over this case.

“I would like to thank the community for their support and patience as we carry out our investigations. I’d ask anyone with information they believe could help to get in touch with us in the MCIT, quoting reference 5218251178.
