Victim identified in Easton murder inquiry

A 32-year-old man who died at a property in the Easton area of Bristol yesterday has been identified as Bashir Abdullah.

Bashir was found with serious injuries at a flat in Lansdowne Court at about 5.15pm on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination has confirmed he died as a result of being stabbed.

A 51-year-old man remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Senior Investigating Officer DI Mike Buck said: “Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of Bashir who are going through a terrible ordeal.

“Our investigation is focussing on finding out exactly how and why he died.

“There will be a continuing police presence in the area over the weekend and I’d like to reassure residents that we’re treating it as a contained incident, so there is no wider risk to the public.
