Appeal after M4 crash in which car ended up facing the wrong way – Bath to Bristol

A marked police car

We’re appealing for witnesses after a collision in which a pregnant woman’s car ended up facing the wrong way on the M4.

It happened at about 6.40pm on Wednesday 6 February on the M4 westbound between junctions 18 for Bath and 19 for Bristol.

The collision involved a silver Ford Focus and the woman’s blue Vauxhall Corsa, both travelling in lane one.

The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution following the incident.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs. He was later released under investigation.

We’re keen to hear from anyone who saw the crash or the manner of driving in the moments beforehand.
