Three people have been arrested after two warrants were executed at properties in Paulton yesterday morning (10 April).
A cannabis factory was found at one of the properties in the High Street area, along with weapons including knifes, an imitation firearm and a stab-proof vest.
At a second property in the Purnell Way area, we seized more weapons including knives and suspected pepper spray, smoke grenades, stun guns, and ammunition.
The warrants were carried out by officers, including firearms officers, simultaneously at just after 4am as part of an intelligence-led operation.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of a class B drug, possessing a firearm without a certificate and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas.
An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of a class B drug and a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of a class B drug.
All three have been released under investigation to allow enquiries to continue.
Neighbourhood Inspector Gavin Usher said: “These warrants have taken illegal drugs and weapons off our streets and form part of our wider response to tackling the illegal supply of drugs and linked criminality.
“I want to reassure the local community that a full investigation is well under way and if anyone has concerns about the policing activity they can speak to a member of the neighbourhood team.”
