Added on 18 May 2017 at 15:09

We’re trying to trace a dog walker who may have information which could help our investigation into an assault in Emersons Green.

A 20-year-old man was walking home from an evening out when he was knocked to the ground, kicked and punched by two young men who demanded money and his phone.

It happened just before 11.30pm on Thursday 11 May. The victim said he passed a group of four young men sitting on a bench on Emersons Green Lane and that they followed him before assaulting him near Emersons Green Village Park playground.

He described seeing an “elderly” man walking what he said was a German Shepherd dog and officers are particularly keen to speak to this man.

The victim needed hospital treatment for concussion and injuries to his ribs and nose, but nothing was stolen in the incident.

His attackers were described as:

  1. A white man, aged about 18, about 5ft 6ins tall and stocky. He wore a grey tracksuit and a black balaclava and was carrying a kitchen knife
  2. A white man in his early 20s, 6ft 2ins tall and stocky. He wore a black tracksuit and had a distinctive scar running from his sideburn to his mouth.

They were accompanied by two white men who were described as younger and smaller, who did not take part in the attack.
