We’re investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman whose body was found at a flat in Hartcliffe.
The body of Tracy Bowen was found at a property in Bishport Avenue on the morning of Saturday 25 November.
A forensic post-mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday (December 5) and the cause of death was confirmed as a stab injury.
Senior Investigating Officer Andy Mott, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “We’ll be carrying out a full and thorough investigation into Tracy’s death and have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of her murder.
“We’ve updated Tracy’s family and they will continue to be supported by a specially trained liaison officer.
“We’re appealing for anyone with information about Tracy’s death to come forward.
“Did you see or hear any unusual activity in or around Rowan House in Bishport Avenue on Saturday 25 November or the days before? Do you have information which could be useful to our investigation? If you do, please call us.”
Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Bolton-Jones added: “I know this will be of concern to the local community in Hartcliffe and there will be increased police activity around the area over the coming days. If you have any concerns, please speak to your local neighbourhood officers."
