Southmead neighbourhood team moves in to fire station

Added on 03 January 2018 at 15:01

Residents of Southmead will be pleased to hear that the neighbourhood police team (NPT) has a new base at the fire station on Southmead Road.

Local people will be aware that we have been looking for a base for the NPT since the old police station in Southmead was sold and closed at the start of last year. Since then, the NPT has been temporarily based at the Greenway Centre whilst a suitable permanent base was sought.

Neighbourhood Inspector for north Bristol, Rob Cheeseman said: “Sharing a space with our partners in Avon Fire and Rescue makes perfect sense, and provides us with a good home whilst a more permanent solution is sought. We’re in the heart of the community and can continue our patrols of the area, tackling the issues most important to local people.”
