Three people – two men and a woman – have been arrested following a large drugs seizure in East Somerset.
Acting on information provided by a member of the public officers executed a search warrant at a property in Cockhill Close, East Pennard at about 6.20pm on Wednesday.
Officers found a vehicle full of cannabis plants and inside the property discovered more plants.
Around 350 mature cannabis plants were seized, together with various electronic communication devices.
The plants are believed to have a street value of around £500,000.
Police sergeant Lee Humphreys said: “This was a highly successful operation carried out by response and neighbourhood officers from Frome, Wells and Street police stations.
“We were acting on information provided to us by members of the public. We would encourage anyone who sees anything suspicious, which they believe may be connected to drugs, to contact us.
“This operation, which will result in a large number of cannabis plants being destroyed, shows that we do listen to members of the public and will take the appropriate action to remove the menace of drugs,” said PS Humphreys.
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug.
The two men – aged 53 and 58 and a 44-year-old woman – have been released under investigation.
