A man’s in our cells today, Wednesday 11 July, after a burglary at Lockleaze Sports Centre.
We were called at about 10.40pm on Tuesday 10 July to an alarm activation at the centre in Bonnington Walk. When officers attended they found a man in the area and he was arrested on suspicion of burglary at about 11pm.
Alcohol had been taken from the bar area of the sports centre and some had been dropped and smashed outside. Police dog Nash led his handler to more stolen alcohol, which was recovered and returned to the sports centre.
Our investigations continue and a man remains in police custody at the time of writing.
