Avon and Somerset police open day in pictures

Ticket Image

A snapshot of the action-packed Avon and Somerset police open day yesterday, 13 September 2015, when we welcomed over 7,000 local people to police HQ. Guests enjoyed displays from the police dogs, horses, helicopters, operations training and cadets, alongside many local organisations doing incredible work with children and young people, including:

  • Riding for the Disabled - performed a dressage without sight
  • Creative Youth Network - upcycled old police uniforms for a fashion show
  • Mumtaz dance company – brought Bollywood dance to Portishead
  • Access Sport – taught guests to play Boccia, the all ability sport
  • LitterARTI – worked with young people to make musical instruments from rubbish

Thank you to everyone who made the day a success and helped to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

At the open day you can...
Drive in a police car, fingerprint Dad with CSI and meet the police dogs and horses
