We are delighted to announce that we will be opening the doors of Police and Fire HQ in Portishead on Sunday 16 September for our annual Emergency Services Open Day.
This popular annual event showcases the work of emergency services working across Avon and Somerset.
As well as Avon and Somerset Constabulary and Avon Fire and Rescue representatives from HM Coastguard, British Red Cross, RNLI, Mountain Rescue and Wessex 4 X 4 will be at the event amongst many others.
Visitors are set to enjoy an action packed day with displays from the Avon and Somerset’s Police Dog, Mounted and Firearms sections and car cutting and animal rescue demonstrations from Avon Fire and Rescue.
Members of the public will also have the chance to learn more about those who volunteer in communities including Specials, Cadets and Neighbourhood watch.
There will be plenty on offer for younger visitors including a treasure hunt and an opportunity to work alongside the Major Crime Team and become a ‘young detective’ for the day.
There will also be a variety of food outlets and picnic areas available.
The full schedule of events will be released over the coming months.
The Open Day is a fully ticketed event. Tickets are free and will be available from 1pm on 8th August and from 7pm on 28th August from https://hqopenday2018.eventbrite.co.uk .
Tickets are usually snapped up very quickly – last year the first batch of tickets sold out in just 11 minutes.
Our Emergency Services Open Day would not be possible without the support of our proud partners, which include BT/Cisco, Pig on the Hill, O2, Qlik and Xerox.
